The Moonlight Run is opulent and powerful on the palate with a beautiful fry, which comes from the old vines. Spicy and soft, with slightly noticeable extract sweetness, it ends in a long finale. Massena is about real people from the Barossa Valley who produce original wines with character and stories. Every wine has its own story, which is the result of an idea or a seasonal event. The handmade wines are all small series of vineyards that Massena owns itself. “Moonlight Run was our midnight trip back to Barossa after harvesting grapes in Clare Valley in 1999. We craved a soft, juicy wine to forget the hard night shifts, so we decided to make our own. We are inspired by the wines of the southern Rhone Valley and have implemented this vision.”
