About the product
Founded in 1879, the multi-award winning The Glenrothes distillery is located at the foot of the Mannoch Hills, on the banks of the Rothes Burn river. The water used for distilling The Glenrothes comes from two nearby sources, The Ardcanny and The Brauchhill. The Glenrothes whiskeys are characterized by careful aging in exquisite sherry oak barrels. Sherry was previously stored in almost 90% of the distillery's barrels, pressed from white grapes that grow in Andalusia, in the vineyards near Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. Launched in 2018, the Soleo Collection renews the previous Vintage and Reserve portfolio and is an homage to the unique whiskey manufacturing process. In the traditional brine process, the grapes are spread and dried in the hot Andalusian sun. As soon as its color changes from fresh green and golden yellow to deep purple, it is the ideal time for fermentation. Complex, full-bodied and beautifully balanced — each dram testifies to The Glenrothes's outstanding craftsmanship and passion for high-quality raw materials, a careful distillation process and the highest quality barrels.
