About the product

Little has changed at The Balvenie Distillery since its inception. The single malts are still produced in the traditional way today, which gives these whiskeys their incomparable taste. The Balvenie is the only distillery that still grows its own barley, uses traditional barn malting and has a coppersmith and cooper on site — which is why The Balvenie is still one of the malts with the highest proportion of craftsmanship today. Thanks to the close collaboration between David Stewart and the coopers belonging to the distillery, new types of wooden barrels are constantly being produced. Each whiskey has an individual taste, but all are rich, extremely smooth and are supported by an unmistakable honey-sweet character. With its sister distillery Glenfiddich, The Balvenie is still independent and family-owned by its founders.

Tasting note
Sweet honey tones & fruity notes. Strong whiskeys were selected for Port Wood, which only aged in traditional oak barrels for 20 years. The distillate spent the subsequent maturing phase in barrels in which the most valuable vintage port had matured before.
