“The “Arborist” is dedicated to Vina Robles founder Hans Nef and named after the arborist who saved the life of the iconic, over 300-year-old oak tree on its label. Hans Nef was known for his love of trees, he named the winery after them (robles is Spanish for “oaks”) and placed an oak tree on Vina Robles' first wine label. The same tree still exists and is rooted in the Jardine Vineyard vineyard. This is remarkable in that the oak tree's health began to deteriorate at the end of the 90s. The Nef family and the Vina Robles team are grateful to the arborist who was able to save the oak tree in 2014 so that everyone can continue to benefit from its beauty and positive impact on the environment.
