About the wine
Tenuta San Leonardo is surrounded by vineyards and, according to numerous experts, is one of the best houses in Italy. Tenuta San Leonardo wines have an ancient tradition that Marchese Carlo Guerrieri and now his son Anselmo carry on. San Leonardo is not wine, San Leonardo is a place. Tasting note
Medium ruby with garnet reflections. Powerful and noble berry nose. Notes of plums, blackberries and sweet spices. A soft, smooth start. Strong body with good quality tannins and juicy acidity. Again, dark berries, spicy aromas, some undergrowth. A wine of great harmony and elegance with a wonderfully aromatic finish.
Culinary recommendation
Perfectly accompanies pasta with tomato sauce or grilles of all kinds.
Vinification
The latest and already very successful creation from the top winery Tenuta San Leonardo. A classic Bordeaux blend. 80% of the wine is aged in large Slavonian oak barrels for 18 months, 20% in French barriques for at least six months.
