Tasting note
Deep garnet red. Intense bouquet with great aromatic finesse. Aromas of wild berries and sour cherries, spicy with light vanilla notes. Full-bodied, tasty, warm and harmonious, soft and well-integrated tannins.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with Mediterranean-style pasta dishes, red meats and cheese.
Vinification
Information about vinification: The grapes for San Domenico come from the vineyards of the Dominikarinne monastery in Neggio, above Ponte Tresa. The wine is pressed using the method that the sisters used to use: by means of a relatively short maceration of around seven days, followed by the classic Bordeaux method, with storage in 2nd and 3rd filling barriques.
