About the wine
The renowned Tenuta Perano winery owned by the Frescobaldi family has created a complex, expressive Chianti Classico. The winery, idyllically located near Gaiole, is a wonderful place to visit and stay. The vineyards, which are laid out at 500 meters above sea level in the form of a natural amphitheatre, are particularly impressive.

Tasting note
Ruby red color that gets a bit lighter towards the edge. The nose is heavily influenced by the terroir and is reminiscent of raspberries and cherries, complemented by subtle roasted aromas, wet stone and some Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, there is a wonderful intensity and balance between fruit and freshness. The wine is smooth and aromatic, characterized by red fruits, but also by cocoa and a touch of clove; the finish is juicy.
Culinary recommendation
Ideal for starters such as house pâté or wild terrines, dark mushroom sauces, stews, and dark poultry such as duck or guinea fowl. It also goes well with various types of steak, grilled meat and semi-hard and hard cheeses such as Sbrinz or mountain cheese.
