Sunny and blooming landscapes of the Douro Valley give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Portuguese winery Quinta do Vallado conjures up this red wine with refinement and sensitivity.

Culinary recommendation
Unsere Empfehlung: Der Rotwein schmeckt am besten bei leicht gekühlten 15°-18°C. Der Wein sollte in diesem Zeitraum genossen werden: Mind. 9 Jahre.
Vinification
Ein paar Worte zur Vinifikation: Die Sousão-Trauben werden nach traditioneller Art mit den Füssen während 6 Tagen in lagares getreten. Nach der alkoholischen Gärung wird der Wein umgefüllt in neue französische Holzfässer und durchläuft dort die malolaktische Gärung. Anschliessend reift der Jungwein weitere 20 Monate in den Holzfässern bis zur Flaschenfüllung. Die Jahresproduktion beträgt lediglich 2600 Flaschen. Sousão ist ein rustikale Varietät mit guter Säure, Tintoreira-Qualität und ausserordentlich guter Haltbarkeit
