About the wine
Tenuta Aia Vecchia is an idyllically situated property in Alta Maremma. Surrounded by olive groves, centuries-old cork oaks and the typical Mediterranean maquis. Brothers Filippo and Alessandro Pellegrini have been pressing their wines here since 1996. The two have some of the best locations in the Bolgheri region. They manage their farm according to organic principles.

Tasting note
A premium wine from Tuscany that has all the characteristics that are associated with a large plant: complexity, sustainability and harmony. This is the conclusion of a cuvée made from French grape varieties — planted in Tuscan soil. It is a pleasure to experience the complex, intense bouquet in your nose. It reveals fruit aromas (cassis, blackberry, plum), growing notes reminiscent of caramel, toast, tobacco and leather. It is fun to keep the wine on the palate, where the fruity structure meets the strong but ripe tannins. It is rare for a classic structure to be balanced with a full-bodied texture at the end and to reflect the sensory impression of the nose and palate in a lasting, straight and consistent way. The plants that offer this belong in the top league. Sor Ugo belongs in that category, no question about it.

Goes well with game, lamb skewer, beef stewed roast beef, brasato, beef skewer, veal steak, lamb steak, beef steak, pork steak, polenta.
Vinification
Aged in barriques (French oak) for 18 months, then stored in the bottle for 12 months
