About the wine
The winery was founded by Asensio Carcelén Herrero towards the end of the 19th century in the region of Jumilla and is now managed in the fourth generation by Juan Carcelén Gilar. The Carcelén family has traditionally tended their 300 hectares of vines close to nature and according to organic standards. Monastrell is mainly grown, with small parts also Syrah and Grenache. Since 2011, the Asensio Carcelén winery has been officially certified to produce organic wines.

Tasting note
Cherry red color with coppery reflections. The intense bouquet is bursting with overripe fruits, jam, prunes and dried dates. The long maturation of the wine creates an aromatic complexity on the palate. The Sol y Luna shows spicy notes of black pepper and nutmeg, balsamic, toffee and subtle roasted aromas. A great, natural dessert wine, classic and pioneer of its kind in Jumilla.
