About the wine
Pinotage was the first wine Simonsig launched in 1970. The Redhill Pinotage comes from the best location of their own vineyards on the beautiful Redhill, which provides the most ideal conditions for this grape variety. The 275-hectare Simonsig Estate is located northwest of Stellenbosch, the famous first-class wine-growing region of South Africa. The wine tradition of Simonsig dates back to 1953 with wine pioneer Frans Malan. Today, the three sons Johan, François and Pieter run the winery.

Tasting note
Concentrated bouquet of plum compote, chocolate and barrique aromas with a subtle animal note. Rich, with soft tannins. Long, berry finish.
Culinary recommendation
It goes very well with duck, pheasant or ostrich fillet. It is also suitable with chicken in a sour-sweet sauce or with vegetable gratin. Semi-hard cheese is suitable as cheese.
