About the wine
Himmelsleiterli is Zurich's flagship wine. At the beginning of the 1960s, Landolt bought a large plot of land on this steepest vineyard in the canton of Zurich and was the first winery in German-speaking Switzerland to terrace to simplify vine cultivation. If you stand at the bottom of the stairs that lead up the vineyard, you get the impression that they lead straight to heaven. The fantasy name Himmelsleiterli was born!

Tasting note
Dark ruby red. Notes of currants, strawberries and cherries. Herbal-spicy notes on the palate. Smooth and elegant in the aftertaste. Fruity on the palate, with subtle acidity and the same tannin.
Culinary recommendation
Our recommendation: The red wine tastes best at a slightly chilled 16°-18°C. The wine should be enjoyed during this period: 1 - 3 years after harvest. Flaschenpöstler tip: Schiterberger Himmelsleiterli is ideal with duck, salmon and red meat.

The Schiterberger Himmelsleiterli was expanded in a steel tank.
