About the wine
Romaneira 10 Years Tawny is a beautifully aged sweet wine made from Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, and Tinta Roriz grapes. Its smooth texture and balanced sweetness come from a decade spent maturing in oak barrels, crafted carefully by Quinta da Romaneira, a producer dedicated to authenticity and genuine winemaking. Tasting note
This wine has a pale brick-red tawny colour. On the nose, lively fruit notes are harmoniously combined with the characteristic aromas of dried fruits such as nuts. On the palate, it is rich and smooth, with an elegant structure and a long finish.
Culinary recommendation
This tawny port is ideal as an aperitif, served slightly chilled, or as a digestif at the end of a meal. It goes particularly well with desserts that contain nuts or caramel, as well as with aged cheese.
Vinification
The grapes are traditionally tamped with their feet and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. After fermentation, the wine ages in 640 liter oak barrels, with the old tawnys spending their entire life in the barrel until the final blending takes place.
