About the wine
The Riserva del Conte is arguably one of Tasca d'Almerita's best wines. Sicily, perhaps. The birth of Riserva was the top year 2010 and the Tasca family's idea to exploit the great potential of the local Perricone grape variety. Only the very best portions of the Perricone vineyards were used for the wine. The cuvée is completed with a good third of Nero d'Avola. Fermentation was carried out in temperature-controlled steel tanks and aged for 26 months in 500-liter chestnut barrels. Only 8,000 bottles were filled.

Tasting note
Dense, shiny ruby. Fragrant nose with aromas reminiscent of red berries, cherries and warm spices. The complex bouquet is underlined with notes of black olives and a fine herbal spice. Distinctive and stocky on the palate, almost demanding. Alive. A wine that is bursting with strength. Ripe tannins of the best quality, well integrated. The aromas of the nose are repeated. Long, almost never-ending finish.
Culinary recommendation
A welcome accompaniment to stews. How about veal shanks and a creamy risotto?
