About the wine
With the dominant Corvina 2015 — Ripasso iL Bugiardo Valpolicella Classico Superiore DOC wooden box, nuances and accents are redefined. With sensitivity and intuition, the winemaker from the Italian winery Buglioni masters this red wine in the fertile and blooming countryside of Veneto. Flaschenpöstler tip: Combine this Corvina with hearty meat dishes or roasts.
Tasting note
The Ripasso Il Bugiardo has the aromas of a beautiful Amarone, but is slightly lighter than the famous Amarone from the same producer.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with lamb, beef, veal, venison, pork, grilled meat.
Vinification
Ripasso is a traditional oenological technique common in Valpolicella, in which a portion of Amarone pomace is added to normal Valpolicella. This gives it a density that is reminiscent of its big brother - but not its high alcohol content.
