About the wine
Weingut Dr. Loosen has been family-owned for over 200 years. When Ernst Loosen took over the winery in 1988, he quickly realized that he had the opportunity to produce unique and large Rieslings with the estate's roots, which are between 60 and 100 years old and are located in the most famous vineyards on the Moselle. Ernst Loosen is convinced that great wines come from great passion. We want to produce wines that tempt you to enjoy, that are concentrated and complex and that reflect their origin in an unmistakable way.

Tasting note
Dark, spicy minerals dominate the nose, plus grapefruit and peach. Clear and direct on the palate, with elegance, excitement and an iodic note on the finish.

Vinification
After manual harvesting, the selected grapes are gently pressed and then fermented in 1,000 liter fuder barrels and in 3,000 liter oak barrels and stored on fine yeast for 12 months. No bâtonnage (stirring up yeast grounds) is used during this time.
