About the wine
Weingut Dr. Loosen has been family-owned for over 200 years. When Ernst Loosen took over the winery in 1988, he quickly realized that with the estate's root-root vines, which are between 60 and 100 years old and are located in the most famous vineyards on the Moselle, he had the opportunity to produce unique and large Rieslings. Ernst Loosen is convinced that great wines come from great passion. We want to produce wines that are tempting to enjoy, that are concentrated and complex and that reflect their origin in an unmistakable way.

Tasting note
Wonderful clarity on the nose, papaya, passion fruit, lime, honey, almond paste and flint. Versatile and complex with a wonderful terroir expression.
Vinification
The overripe grapes, some of which are affected by Botrytis, are gently pressed after selective manual harvesting and then started to ferment in a temperature-controlled stainless steel tank. The fermentation process is stopped prematurely by means of cooling so that not all sugar is converted into alcohol and the wine retains its residual sweetness.
