About the wine
Bodegas Peñafiel, whose vineyards are 750 to 900 meters, is located in the heart of Ribera del Duero. Every single bottle of the bodegas contains a part of this region: the composition of the air, the intensity of the colors, the crackling dry heat of summer and the damp scent of winter. The production of wines from low-yield vines is limited in order to achieve a consistently high quality standard from year to year. Peñafiel also has vineyards in Rueda and Toro.

Tasting note
The grapes for the Black Edition come from the Raphael vineyard and are harvested by hand. Intense color with deep cherry red and purple reflections. Powerful and complex on the nose. Black and red fruits, spices (with subtle hints of cinnamon and clove), roasted notes, even some coconut are present. Voluminous and full in the mouth, lots of character, ending in a wonderfully sweet finale. An absolute gem from Ribera del Duero.
