About the wine
The origins of Rioja Vega go back to 1882, when Don Felipe Ugalde established a bodega in Haro that bore his name. A change took place in 1948. The Ugalde and Muerza families (another family of winemakers in the neighborhood) became related through marriage. Both bodegas joined forces to set up production in San Adrián under the name of Bodegas Muerza. It was a period of prosperity. The equipment was renewed and the sales network improved. In 1983, the winery was acquired by the Príncipe de Viana Group. Since then, sales have increased considerably, and the wines regularly shine at national and international awards.

Tasting note
Clear cherry red color On the nose, intense, fruity-berry aromas are accompanied by toasted notes such as caramel, vanilla and toffee. On the palate with good structure, velvety texture, nice fullness, pleasant tannins, great balance and a persistent finish.
Culinary recommendation
Our recommendation: Enjoy this red wine at a slightly chilled 15°-18°C. Flaschenpost team is recommended with pizza, barbecue and lasagna.
Vinification
The wine is stored in American oak barrels for 2 years. It then ages in bottle for at least 12 months before being sold.
