About the product
Rémy Martin Accord Royal 1738 This cognac marks a glorious turning point in the history of Rémy Martin. In 1738, just 14 years after the company produced cognac for the first time, the King of France, Louis XV, who was deeply impressed by the quality of Rémy Martin cognac, gave the company sole permission to cultivate new vineyards by means of an “Accord Royal”. This was a rare exception at that time, as it was otherwise strictly prohibited by the Council of State due to famine throughout the Kingdom. 1997: Together with winemaker Georges Clot, Rémy Martin decided to create a new distillate in honor of this royal gesture of 1738, resulting in the 1738 Accord Royal.
