The 27.5 hectare Red Shoulder Ranch vineyard is located in the hills of Los Carneros, in the southern Napa Valley. Here, the vines benefit from morning fog in summer and also from the cooling winds that start in the late afternoon. Both bring welcome coolness. The wine has a beguiling creaminess and complexity of taste, the fruit a pleasant freshness. The name Red Shoulder honors the red-shouldered hawks living here, which play an important role in sustainable agriculture. Here they help to keep the rodent population under control
