Ratafia del Ticino Fra Giovanni primarily uses local grape varieties, often a blend of Merlot and other grapes grown in the region, such as Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. This combination gives Ratafia its characteristic fruitiness and depth.

Tasting note
This ratafià requires walnuts and five other ingredients, which, however, are secret. The high quality of “Fra Giovanni” is anything but a secret.
Culinary recommendation
Ideal as a digestive after a hearty meal. It goes well with chocolate desserts, nuts, aged cheese or even with tiramisu and other Italian desserts.
Vinification
Made by macerating grape pomace, which is then mixed with brandy and aged in wooden barrels to develop and intensify the aromas.
