About the wine
The wine-growing regions of the French winery Les Aphillanthes extend across the landscapes of the Côtes du Rhône, where the experienced winemaker produces this red wine. Tasting note
Powerful bouquet of wild berries, spices and dried herbs, notes of leather, like a horse saddle, open in the nose. On the palate, the Rasteau 1921 is just as muscular. The powerful body, perfectly integrated tannins, and the soft texture create a harmonious interplay in which the fruity and animal notes fit perfectly. This wine is a must for every Rasteau fan!
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with vegetables, charcuterie, lamb, game, beef.
Vinification
Grenache, Mourvèdre and Carignan. Grenache, which grows on the southern slope, was planted as early as 1921 and produces very low but all the more aromatic yields. After traditional fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the cuvée matures for 18 months in French oak barrels.
