Ruinart was founded in 1729 as the first champagne house ever and is an established name in Champagne. The historic champagne house owes its creation to the visionary and pioneering monk Dom Thierry Ruinart. Located in the heart of Reims, the Ruinart house guards a real treasure. The unique Ruinart chalk cellars, both historic monuments and architectural masterpieces, have been listed buildings since 1931 and have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since July 2015. Almost 40 meters underground, in the darkness and coolness of the cathedral-like cellars, the precious Ruinart bottles are stored before they come into the light.
