Tasting note
The wine initially gives off an aroma of dark and red fruits, which develop into tobacco and plums. The textured middle palate presents cranberries, peppercorns and spices and ends with a long, structured, velvety and juicy.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with a variety of red meat dishes, such as braised lamb with a lingonberry reduction, steak in pepper crust and duck breast in plum glaze.
Vinification
The grapes were harvested on the slopes of Simonsberg. Simonsbergs, where they grow in north-facing vineyards that have a cool Atlantic breeze in the summer months. The vineyards were planted on granite soils that rest on thick layers of slate. These iron-rich soils protect the vines from the very dry and hot summers and also enable the development of strong aromas.
