Tasting note
Inviting bouquet of cherries, plums and ripe fruits. Nice confirmation on the palate. Soft body, long, fine aftertaste.
Culinary recommendation
Mature cheese or a fine tureen.
Vinification
The Niepoort Tawny matures for an average of three and a half years. The grapes come from low-yield vineyards in the Cima Corgo region, in the Douro Valley. The harvest is done by hand. Foot stamped. It is largely fermented in traditional lagares before maturing in small oak barrels in the Niepoort wineries in Vila Nova de Gaia.
