Tasting note
The excellent fabulous tawny for everyday use. Inviting bouquet of cherries, plums and ripe fruits. Nice confirmation on the palate. Soft body, long, fine aftertaste. Tip: Ideal with a ripe piece of cheese or a fine tureen.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with desserts, aperitifs, poultry, light meals and aged cheeses.
Vinification
The Niepoort Tawny matures for an average of three and a half years. The grapes come from low-yield vineyards in the Cima Corgo region, in the Douro Valley. It is largely fermented in traditional lagares before maturing in small oak barrels in the Niepoort wineries in Vila Nova de Gaia.
