About the wine
To get a feel for the mountainous and hilly landscape aesthetics of Tessin, there is no way around this red wine, which the Swiss winery Terre del Malcantone masters with a keen sense of texture. If we can offer something special for Christmas 2021, it's this distinctive Merlot 2017 — Pio del Sabato Terre del Malcantone Ticino DOC. Tasting note
Intense ruby red color. Bouquet of red fruits, accompanied by delicate spicy notes and balsamic aromas. Broad approach with dominant young tannins that are well integrated. Small-berry concentrated grapes give the wine great aging potential.

Grilled meats, roasts, beef, Asian dishes
Vinification
The hand-picked grapes are gently pressed and ferment in large oak barrels. The wine is then aged in French oak barrels of various sizes for approx. 14 months.
