Tasting note
The Pinot Noir l'Ensemble impresses with a deep ruby red. On the nose, expressive aromas of ripe raspberries, black cherries, violets and spicy notes of laurel and dried herbs. On the palate, it is extremely harmonious with lots of bright red fruit, some black olive, supported by a racy acid structure, mineral notes, velvety tannins, and a long-lasting finish. A Pinot Noir that is great fun to drink when drunk young but can easily age in the bottle for 10-15 years.
Vinification
The grapes for this Pinot Noir come from various Ava's in the Willamette Valley. All plots are maintained organically or biodynamically. The blend of the various plots should optimally combine the various terroirs and express the diversity of the region. After the handpicking, winemaker Tracy Kendall and Jean-Nicolas Méo take care of the vinification. The wine is aged in French barriques for approx. 12-14 months. Approximately 33% virgin wood is used. After bottling, the wine ages in the bottle for a few more months before it is sold.
