Culture and wine — there are only a few sites on earth where this combination is maintained more intensively than here. In 1027, the Habsburgs founded the abbey, which was taken over by Benedictine monks from Muri in Switzerland in 1845. It was they who mentioned the name Lagreiner for the first time. The monastery's own vineyards are consistently cultivated using integrated and near-natural cultivation methods. Low hive loads and gentle, regulating interventions on plant growth and the environment are the basis for optimal harvest results and an intact environment.
