About the wine
Bodegas Bhilar is a boutique winery in Elvillar, Rioja Alavesa, run by David Sampedro and Melanie Hickman. Their goal is to make terroir wines with a soul, respect the land, work only with local grapes and share their unique wines with good people with positive energy.

Tasting note
The wine smells like walking through the spice market in Marrakesh. This fine spiciness persists on the palate. It is aged for 24 months in new 500 liter French oak barrels. In addition to blackberries and sour cherries, there is also a fine mint note on the finish.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with entrecote, beef fillet, game dishes, lamb or hard cheese
Vinification
The grapes come from vines that were planted in 1929 and stand on pure limestone. The vineyard is farmed biodynamically. The horse is plowed with great care and the grapes are squeezed with the feet.
