Petruna in Anfora Sangiovese Toscana IGT 2018 - Il Borro

Salvatore Ferragamo, the head of the winery, has been experimenting with amphorae for a long time. Now the time has come. Thanks to the advice of Luca d'Atoma, the Staroenologist, who has been successfully accompanying IL Borro since the very beginning, has succeeded in growing a wonderfully fragrant Sangiovese in the amphorae. Incidentally, the clay containers come from Marco Manetti, Giovanni's brother, head of Azienda Fontodi. The Manetti family has been running clay distilleries in Impruneta for centuries (some products are available from Caratello). But back to the wine: It shows a wonderfully fragrant aroma, is berry, lively and precisely defined. Juicy and well-balanced on the palate.
