Pressing a single-varietal wine from 100% Petit Verdot is an art that Abadía Retuerta has mastered. The aroma is intense and complex at the same time. Velvety tannins, which still bite a bit, and a filigree acid structure form the basis for a special drinking experience. The aroma is reminiscent of blackcurrants, blackberry jelly and a touch of chocolate. This is accompanied by a fine tart tone of tobacco with subtle gingerbread spices. The finale is terrific. It is a great composition that gives you a lot of drinking pleasure when you are young, but after a few years of aging in the bottle, it becomes a pleasure experience.
