About the wine
Antinori has been active in the wine trade for a whopping six centuries. The wine dynasty from Florence is now led by the 26th generation. Marchese Piero Antinori runs the company together with his three daughters.
Tasting note
Dark ruby with purple reflections. On the nose, intense aromas of cherries, ripe black berries, dark chocolate and a hint of vanilla. Flattering and lively on the palate, with the typical Sangiovese juiciness. Noticeable but well-integrated tannins, the aromas of the nose are confirmed. The wine has bite and melts at the same time, with a good length in the finish.
Culinary recommendation
Enjoy this juicy red wine with the “cucina tipica italiana”: it perfectly accompanies pasta, pizza and risotto.
Vinification
The grapes for this Chianti Classico come exclusively from the Pèppoli estate. Only the best grapes go through vinification. This takes place in high-quality stainless steel tanks. To refine, the young wine is aged for around nine months in 55 hl Slavonian oak barrels.
