About the wine

This is a fantastic property, not luxury, not a show off, but an unpretentious, healthy and complete agricultural world on 30 hectares of forest, grain, fruit, vines, and all the animals, and all that since the Middle Ages, in Alt Penedès! The Finca Can Comas. You just have to have an estate like that, you just have to do something nice! And they have that too, Ramon Parera and Jordi Arnan make their wine here, with their hearts, with nature, with autochthonous grape varieties that were far too laborious for other winemakers, with little yield, just nature that you simply cannot completely tame or chastise with chemistry. But Ramon and Jordi omit chemistry anyway, synthetic things too, because there is no ploughing in the vineyard either. It can simply grow around and with the vines, which radiates lightness and inner balance here, and so are the wines. Unspoiled beauty, inner harmony, unpretentious charisma from old varieties. The wines and the winemakers: role models.

Tasting note
Dewy morning - so young, juicy freshness, bright fruit, even young green, so clear, cool, and with the moist chalky stone, as if covered by dew, it all seems so dewy and yet gently drawn by the morning light, which with every hour, every degree, makes the wine ever gentler, creamier, the fruit warmer and more golden. On the palate too, this moist, fresh, peaceful atmosphere, clear, very bright fruit, also mustard, moist, sometimes dark soil, what a wonderful mineral, juicy freshness that is increasingly surrounded by a mild, golden morning. Wonderful! Pour cold and then enjoy the beginning of the day.
Vinification
Very selective reading by hand. Fermentation of the slightly crushed, destemmed berries, fermentation with the vineyard's own yeasts, about half aging for 8 months in new French oak barrels (500l), the other half in concrete eggs (1600l). No fining or filtration.
