About the wine

This is a fantastic property, not luxury, not a show off, but an unpretentious, healthy and complete agricultural world on 30 hectares of forest, grain, fruit, vines, and all the animals, and all that since the Middle Ages, in Alt Penedès! The Finca Can Comas. You just have to have an estate like that, you just have to do something nice! And they have that too, Ramon Parera and Jordi Arnan make their wine here, with their hearts, with nature, with autochthonous grape varieties that were far too laborious for other winemakers, with little yield, just nature that you simply cannot completely tame or chastise with chemistry. But Ramon and Jordi omit chemistry anyway, synthetic things too, because there is no ploughing in the vineyard either. It can simply grow around and with the vines, which radiates lightness and inner balance here, and so are the wines. Unspoiled beauty, inner harmony, unpretentious charisma from old varieties. The wines and the winemakers: role models.

Tasting note
Cycladic architecture - the lime, smoothing the rugged stones, radiates and triggers this wonderful feeling of well-being, that is only the case here, the pure soft-whitened stone, nothing around it, a few herbs, citrus fruits, and yet it is so paradisiacal, this almost white, light tart but never hard freshness. Soft lime and sun on the palate, the bright fruit, tart herbs, in bright light, fresh acidity, that cools so beautifully, that shines so beautifully, that is so authentic, this lightness, this freshness, sparse and yet so beautifully carefree! Just vacation.
Vinification
Selective harvesting by hand. 20 days of fermentation of the crushed, destemmed berries, mainly “bleeding” without pressing, fermentation with the vineyard's own yeasts, 1.5 months with regular battonage, followed by 3 months in 100-year-old concrete tanks. No fining or filtration.
