Tasting note
Ruby red with purple hues. On the nose, notes of blackberries, ripe cherries and hints of nougat and chocolate. Substantial, with intense fruit aromas and fine woody notes. Present tannins, finely integrated acidity and a very long finish.
Culinary recommendation
Goes great with lamb gigot and baked vegetables with a strong, dark sauce.
Vinification
The history of Weingut Payr from the Austrian region of Carnuntum dates back to the middle of the 18th century. Today, they belong to the Association of “Traditional Austrian Wineries” and cultivate the vineyards in a respectful way of dealing with nature. The focus is on typical regional wines.
