Tasting note
Opta is the Roman name for the current village of Huete, for the village in which the Pago Calzadilla is located. Even the scent of blackberries, plums, Mediterranean herbs and spices is dense and inviting. Seductive, accessible, delicious: that's the impression of this red wine on the palate. The wonderfully sweet fruitiness, supplemented with spices and subtle aromas, forms the basis of a wonderful treat. The aftertaste shows body, ripe tannins and a refreshing fruitiness.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with pasta, cheese, veal steak, lamb steak, beef steak, pork steak, grilled chicken, duck and duck breast.
Vinification
Aged for 12 months in barriques (American and French oak)
