About the wine

The history of the Oliver Moragues family has been linked to the old manor house in Algaida since 1511. After more than 15 generations, the current project is oriented in three directions to preserve and let the ancient essence of the estate live on: the return to the local grape varieties, the care of the forest belonging to the family and its biodiversity, and the preservation of the house as a cultural heritage. The entire winery has been certified organic since 2004. Thanks to their own forest, they can also use biodynamic practices, such as nettle fermentation with their own nettles from the forest, or use the compost produced by their donkeys. The revival of local grape varieties, which began a few years ago, enables the family to work with almost forgotten varieties and to press expressive, tasty wines from them. The local grape varieties are perfectly adapted to the local terroir and are ideal for organic viticulture on Mallorca.

Tasting note
Deep, elegant, everlasting, very expressive aromas of red fruits, strawberries, cherries, raspberries and red currants, accompanied by lots of pepp with clove, black pepper, toasted bread and a touch of fresh bourbon vanilla. This wine perfectly combines the strength of a tannin structure with a crunchy freshness and balance. Simply great!
