What Guido Fantino and Claudio Conterno have achieved since the founding of the joint wine company in 1982 is impressive: It began in the backyard, in a coach house, where the first barrels and the bare essentials were kept close together. Today, one of the most modern and beautiful wineries in the region is located on Bricco Bastia, the highest point above Monforte d'Alba. Modern oenology is used here, sparkling chrome steel from the fermentation tanks and fine oak wood from the barriques impressively shape the character of the cellar. All wines that leave this cellar are clearly and precisely defined as the architecture and furnishings of this model company. Regardless of whether it is the simple Nebbiolo or the complex Sori Ginestra, whether we taste the Barbera or the magnificent, perfectly polished Chardonnay Bastia, each is a masterpiece in itself.
