About the wine
To get a feel for the hilly and mountainous landscape aesthetics of Tessin, there is no way around this red wine, which the Swiss winery Fawino masters with a fine sense of texture. The Flaschenpöstler promise a culinary experience when you serve this Merlot with slightly spicy red meat or duck.

Tasting note
The grapes for this Merlot come from vineyards around Salorino - Mendrisio. Aged for around 18 months in French barriques. Appealing nose with aromas of dark wild berries, holder, cassis and amarena cherries, framed with notes of roasted nuts, dark chocolate and a bit of cedarwood. Complex on the palate, with juicy freshness, spicy fruit and a distinctive tannin structure, yet remaining elegant with a nice finish and good length.
Culinary recommendation
A fine accompaniment to risotto or pasta with porcini mushrooms, osso bucco with Bramata polenta or a leg of lamb from the oven, but also excellent with game dishes.
