About the wine

In addition to a small town in the Piedmont region, the name Barolo also stands for a fascinating wine history, with which the Cantina Marchesi the Barolo is strongly linked. It was the Margraves Falletti and former owners of the winery who created the wine of kings — Barolo — at the beginning of the 19th century. Among the personalities associated with the name Barolo, there are a few who can be described as historic, indeed as true pioneers. This pioneering role also belongs to Commendatore Pietro Emilio Abbona — an ancestor of the current owner family — who, as an undisputed pioneer, made the wine of his region and with it the Cantina Marchesi di Barolo known all over the world.

Tasting note
A fresh, fruity, sweet, rich and light yellow wine, very sparkling, soft, harmonious and with impressive richness. Its quite strong, complex bouquet impresses with lychee and muscat aromas, complemented by citrus fruit (mandarin), pear, peach and a hint of blackberry and blueberry. It shows a pronounced initial sweetness and normal perlage and subtle mousse as well as nice fruitiness on the palate, rounded off by some nutmeg, vanilla and light candy notes.
Culinary recommendation
Recommended by Flaschenpöstlern: Goes well with tapas and light dishes. Our recommendation: The ideal drinking temperature for sparkling wine is slightly chilled 6°-8°C.
