About the wine
Treat your family and friends at Christmas dinner with this outstanding Sangiovese 2011 — Morellino Di Scansano DOCG Riserva Calestaia. Blooming and fertile Tuscan landscapes give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Italian winery Roccapesta conjures up this red wine with refinement and sensitivity. Tasting note
Ruby red with garnet reflections, taste of red fruits with notes of wood, cigars and spices, soft, full-bodied and full-bodied on the palate with pleasantly integrated tannin.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with game dishes, braised meats and aged cheeses.
Vinification
The wine is stored in wooden barrels (25 hl) for 24 months. Subsequent refinement in bottle for a further 36 months. Annual production limited to 5000 bottles.
