Monkey Shoulder Triple Malt Scotch Whisky - William Grant & Sons

The first triple malt Scotch whiskey in the world! The name is to be understood as a reminder of tradition: In the past, distillery workers turned the germinating barley by hand with shovels and hour by hour. As a result of this hard work, their shoulders sometimes ached and their arms hung low, almost like a chimpanzee. These temporary symptoms were referred to as “monkey shoulder” and this Scotch was named after that. Monkey Shoulder is a combination of three — hence the name triple malt — Scottish single malt whiskies, all aged in old oak bourbon barrels, which explains the incredibly soft and mild vanilla flavor. These are three of Speyside's best single malts. In contrast to conventional blends, Monkey Shoulder consists of 100% malt whiskey, which results in a rich malt of exceptional softness.
