Tasting note
The Moncucchetto Riserva Lugano is deep ruby red with garnet reflections in the glass. On the nose, intense aromas of dark berries, ripe cherries and plums develop, accompanied by elegant roasted aromas, spicy notes, tobacco and a touch of chocolate. On the palate, the wine is powerful, dense and complex, with finely integrated tannins, a harmonious structure and a long, spicy-fruity finish of great elegance.
Culinary recommendation
Ideal with beef, lamb, game dishes, mushroom risotto or aged hard cheese.
Vinification
The hand-picked Merlot grapes come from the best locations in the Lugano region. Fermentation is temperature-controlled and aged in French barriques for around 18 months. An additional aging period in the bottle gives the wine its depth and balance.
