About the wine
Not a story, a fairy tale. In this beguilingly beautiful and hot valley, winegrowers used to grow grapes for the big port wine producers with hard work but little passion until Dirk van Niepoort arrived. With his bold idea of founding a kind of cooperative with numerous winegrowers and processing the grapes with an excellent team into independent wines that reflect their origin, he woke the Douro Valley from deep sleep. Since 1999, the Lavradores de Feitoria community has been producing very remarkable and surprisingly cheap wines year after year.

Tasting note
Elegant lady. Very harmonious, stylish bouquet with dark fruits such as cherries and plums, cedars, tobacco and ethereal notes. Very soft and cool on the palate, transparent on the surface with a warm, dark heart. Feminine elegance instead of masculine stature. A fine wine.
Culinary recommendation
Unsere Empfehlung: Der Rotwein schmeckt am besten bei leicht gekühlten 16°-18°C. Der Wein sollte in diesem Zeitraum genossen werden: Jetzt bis 2020.
Vinification
Very low returns. Selective reading by hand. Cold maceration and fermentation of partially stemmed berries. Aging for 12 months in French barriques.
