Merlot Valentino Sicilia IGT 2019 - Feudi del Pisciotto

The Tuscan winegrower Dr. Paolo Panerai (Castellare and Rocca di Frassinello) bought a good deal of land a few years ago, including some old-fashioned agriculture. Since then, a new winery has been built and the vines have been rearranged according to modern standards and some have also been replanted. In addition to the main local varieties such as Nero d'Avola, Inzolia and Frappato, Panerai also had Chardonnay, Viognier and this Merlot planted. The latter variety, which often ripens late in more northern areas, with all the corresponding disadvantages, seems to grow well here in Sicily and makes a rich, opulent and juicy wine that is perfectly combined with a corresponding meal.
