About the wine

Tasting note
This Merlot is deep ruby red with garnet reflections. The nose is dominated by aromas of ripe plums, dark berries, raisins, pipe tobacco and some coffee. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and soft, with lots of dark fruit, spicy roasted aromas, velvety tannins and silky acidity. A very accessible, elegant and round Merlot with a fruity finish.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with grilled meats, poultry, stews, Sunday roasts, pasta dishes, pizza and hard cheese.
Vinification
The Merlot grape variety feels particularly at home in the Colli Orientali mountains and has been cultivated there for over 100 years. After manual harvesting, mash fermentation takes place in steel tanks. The aging takes place in French barriques for 12 months. The wine is bottled unembellished and only slightly filtered.
