About the wine

There is a lot of history in “Castello di Verduno “, which is now owned by Gabriella Burlotto and Franco Bianco. The big story, that of Savoy and King Charles Albert, and the small story of the Burlotto and Bianco families, which are intertwined around a single great passion for the noblest vines, the Nebbiolo. After fifteen years in Eritrea, in 1950, the commander Giovanni Battista Burlotto left Verduno and considered creating a wine and gastronomic meeting place with the possibility of staying. Now the commander's three daughters and their families passionately dedicate their time to what Verduno Castle is today: hotel, restaurant, wine cellar and farm.

Item no. 1182636
Tasting note
Ruby red in youth, the more mature it gets the more it tends to garnet red with orange reflections. Full, full-bodied red wine. On the nose, leather, tobacco and ripe fruit. Elegant in the mouth, with high tannin and alcohol content and a long finish.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with red meat, game and strong cheese.
Vinification
The grapes were fermented in wooden barrels for 27 days. The wine is then aged in large oak barrels for 27 months. Barolo is left in the bottle for 24 months before it goes on sale.
