Tasting note
Probably the most famous wine from Familia Torres, the legendary Mas La Plana was one of the first Cabernets in Spain and beat all great wines with the 1970 vintage at the Gault Millau Wine Olympics in Paris in 1979. The vines are between 40 and 55 years old and grow in a 29 hectare individual vineyard. Impenetrable black and red in the glass. Intense and varied scents, cedarwood, cassis, floral scents, cigar tobacco, graphite, radiant and pure. Strong and juicy, densely structured, cool-looking, lots of delicious fruit extract, long-lasting with coconut, tar, tobacco. A classic and a must for every Cabernet fan!
Culinary recommendation
Our recommendation: The red wine tastes best at a slightly chilled 16°-18°C.
Vinification
Aging in French barriques for 18 months, 85% of them new.
